IDEC 2009 KOREA를 준비하고 있는 조직위원회는 최근 세계적으로 급속히 확산되고 있는 신종인플루엔자 문제로 안타깝게도 오는 2009년 8월 1일 ~ 8월 8일 개최되려던 IDEC 2009 KOREA 행사를 공식 취소하게 되었음을 알려드립니다.

저희 조직위원회는 지난 몇 개월간 신종인플루엔자의 발병과 확산에 관한 사항에 대해 주의 깊게 모니터링해왔으나 최근 들어 국내에서 확산 경향이 높아지고 있다는 판단을 내렸습니다. 더구나 경남 월드콰이어 챔피언십 코리아 행사가 해외참가자의 발병으로 인해 행사가 중도 취소된 이래 최근 많은 어린이․청소년 관련행사들이 국내행사로 전환되거나 취소되었습니다. 이에 조직위원회는 IDEC 2009 KOREA를 준비하는 각 주최단체들과 협력단체들을 소집하여 2009년 7월 20일 (월) 보건당국과 의료 전문가들의 의견을 청취하고 장시간의 토론 및 두 차례의 표결을 거친 끝에 행사를 공식 취소하기로 결정하였습니다.
