현대인들에게 컴퓨터는 필수품입니다.
많은 이들이 출근한 뒤 사무실 자리에 앉아 컴퓨터를 켜는 것으로 하루를 시작합니다.
스위치를 켜면 컴퓨터 부팅이 시작되고, 하루 일과를 시작하게 되는 것이지요.


컴퓨터가 잠에서 깨어나는 부팅 시간에 무엇을 하시나요?
커피를 타러 가는 분, 전날 보던 서류를 꺼내 놓는 분, 담배를 피우러 가는 분,
늦잠을 자는 바람에 하지 못한 ‘큰일’을 보러 화장실에 가는 분 등 여러 가지 일을 하시겠지요.


부팅 할 때 잠깐이라도 하루를 위해 명상을 해보세요. 명상은 생각과 행동을 비우는 것일 수도 있지만 기도 또한 훌륭한 명상입니다.
컴퓨터 스위치를 켜면서 오늘, 이 컴퓨터를 통해 만나게 되는 모든 이들이 행복하기를 기도해 봅니다.
먼저, 나에게 이메일을 보낸 사람이 오늘 하루 행복하기를 기원해 봅니다.
어떤 사람이 이메일을 보냈는지 알 수 없기 때문에 그저 마음속으로 ‘나에게 이메일을 보낸 사람이 행복하기를’이라고 말하면 됩니다.
상상력이 좀 더 있으신 분들은 이메일을 보낸 사람이 행복한 미소를 짓는 모습을 떠올려도 됩니다.
누구인지 구체적으로 떠올리지 않으셔도 됩니다.
컴퓨터 앞에 앉아 메일을 쓰고 있는 사람들을 떠올리며 그들이 환한 얼굴로 웃는 모습을 생각해보세요.


그리고 컴퓨터를 통해 우리 자신에게 이런저런 정보를 보내주는 다양한 인터넷 매체의 종사자들에게도 축복을 보냅니다.
좋은 글을 쓰거나 비판하는 글을 쓰거나, 점잖은 표현을 하거나 거친 말을 쓰거나 그 모든 분들이 오늘 하루를 행복하게 보내기를 기원해 보세요.
컴퓨터를 끌 때도 그렇게 하면 좋습니다.
